The Brazil national team was founded in 1914 and played its first international match in that same year, against Argentina.

In the early years of the national team, Brazil had limited success on the international stage, and although Brazil was one of four teams that participated in the first World Cup in 1930, they were eliminated in the first round.

It wasn't until the 1958 World Cup that Brazil truly made its mark on the world stage. Led by the legendary striker Pelé, they defeated Sweden in the final, 5-2. This would be the first World Cup win for the Brazil National Team.

Over the next few decades, Brazil continued to be a dominant presence in international football, winning the World Cup again in 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002. The team has also won numerous other international tournaments, including the Copa America and the Confederations Cup.
